I have a mixed culture collected in the field, with two predominant
micro algae. I wish to isolate the two species. The one species is about
5-8 times the size of the other. I have tried sucrose and
percol-sorbitol gradients (both without set protocols) without any luck.
Does anyone have a protocol which they may have used to separate mixed
algal species. I have tentaively ID the species as Dunaliella salina var
maxima and Dunaliella minuta or virdis.
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
