TWO POSITIONS IN BIOLOGY
PLANT GENETICS/ANIMAL CELL BIOLOGY
BARNARD COLLEGE
The Department of Biological Sciences at Barnard College is
seeking two full-time assistant professors to participate in
undergraduate teaching and conduct an active research program
starting September 1995: (1) a plant geneticist who utilizes
cellular and molecular techniques with primary responsibility for
the upper level courses in genetics and (2) an animal cell
biologist (preferably specializing in insects or other
invertebrates) who studies fine structure and who will teach the
upper level courses in cell biology. Candidates should be
broadly trained and able to rotate into the general biology
courses and senior seminars as well as teach courses in area of
speciality. Barnard College is an undergraduate women's college
affiliated with Columbia University. Ph.D. required;
postdoctoral research and prior teaching experience desirable.
