We've made some revisions to the Chlamydomonas database on the World Wide
Web site of the National Agricultural Library, including lots more
references, updated address and stock lists, and a new section describing
Chlamydomonas species available from other algal collections, with origins
of the various wild type strains. To take a look, go to:

http://probe.nalusda.gov:8300

and select "browse chlamydomonas"

Text information is also available by gopher from the Plant Genome server
at the National Agricultural library (probe.nalusda.gov) or through the
Chlamydomonas gopher at Duke University.

The database now includes:

Genetic and molecular maps of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
Information on genetic loci, mutant alleles, sequenced genes
Descriptions of strains in the Chlamydomonas Genetics Center collection
Plasmids in the Chlamydomonas Genetics Center collection
Links to GenBank for sequenced genes of Chlamydomonas, Volvox,
Dunaliella, and other Chlamy cousins
  Colleagues' names and addresses
Chlamydomonas accessions in other algal collections
More than 2800 bibliographic citations, many with abstracts

The database is also available as a stand-alone application for high-end
Macintosh (minimum 16 mb RAM, PowerPC or 68040 Mac). Get this as
MacChlamy.sea from ftp.duke.edu, in the pub/chlamy directory. It's
self-extracting. If you're already using the old Mac version, you should
replace the whole database with the new one, since changes have been made
to the model structure. The archive includes both the PowerPC and 68040
acedb software; you can delete the one you don't need.
