Minigenes? Arg7 message?

Cotransformation is certainly better than no transformation. But it
would be better to have the selected gene and the insert in the same
vector, wouldn't it.  An issue here is the size of the selected gene:
smaller is better. Has anyone has made, or is anyone planning to make,
an arg7 or nit1 minigene?  And does anyone know how large the arg7
message is?
