Postdoctoral position in Plant Molecular Biology,
at the Department of Plant Physiology,
Goteborg (Gothenburg) University, Sweden.

A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Department of Plant
Physiology, Goteborg University, Sweden, during one year with a possibility
of extension for another year. The project concerns the biogenesis of
mitochondria and chloroplasts in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, and includes
studies on the biogenesis of nucleus-encoded organellar polypeptides and
the assembly of multi-subunit protein complexes in the organelles.

In particular, we are interested in sorting of nucleus-encoded proteins
between chloroplasts and mitochondria. Targeting of nucleus-encoded
proteins will be studied both in vitro, in protein import into isolated
organelles, and in vivo, in transgenic C. reinhardtii.

Applicants should have training in biochemical and molecular biological
techniques; experience in genetical analysis and mapping may also be
helpful. Because the fellowship is in part financed by the EU programme
Human Capital and Mobility, applicants must be citizens of an EU country.
Inquiries (including a CV, list of publications, relevant reprints and
letters of recommendation) should be sent to
Dr. Lars-Gunnar Franzen.
