I would like to use Chlamydomonas in a couple of undergraduate cell
biology labs, but am having difficulties growing it. I purchased a
culture from Carolina, and am using their Chlamydomonas culture medium (50
mL in a 250 mL flask), and have the cultures at room temperature under
fluorescent lights in a plant growth chamber.
Is this a decent medium? Are my conditions OK? To what density should
the cells grow? How quickly?
Any help would be appreciated.
