I've had a couple of requests in the past few days for libraries of Chlamy
DNA. We are hoping to obtain funds in the next grant renewal that will
allow the Chlamydomonas Genetics Center to provide these resources, but
until that happens, I must rely on the rest of you to help each other.
Therefore I would like to update my list of who has what kind of library,
and would be willing to distribute it. I think it is quite reasonable for
you to ask recipients to reimburse you for your costs in preparing the
library and shipping it, but it's probably best if you simply negotiate
this directly with your recipients.
So - could I have a show of hands, please? What libraries are out there
that could be shared? In order to match up requests with sources, I need
to know what kinds of cells they are prepared from (vegetative, gametes,
wild type or mutants, etc.), vectors, any particularly useful features or
other information. A reference to a publication where this particular
library was used might also be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
