group I and group II introns

I am trying to categorize an intervening sequence as either a group I or
group II intron. I'm not quite sure how to proceed. Can anyone recommend
a good review article, book? Are there any conserved sequences that I
should be looking for? I understand that there is extreme sequence
diversity within these introns, would trying to fold the RNA into a 2°
structure to find conserved domains work? If so what programs (mac based
or internet) for RNA folding should I be looking for? Is there anything
else I should know? Thanks in advance.
