Nestle in amongst the Postelsia! Come and join us at the 13th Northwest
Algal Symposium on May 14-16, 1999, at the Adobe Resort in Yachats, Oregon
(USA). Yachats is a beautiful little town located about mid-way down the
Oregon coast just north of Cape Perpetua. Many interesting seaweeds abound
in the nearby rocky intertidal. Meeting highlights include a Friday evening
of molecular phylogeny, presented by Suzanne Fredericq and Naomi Phillips
and a Saturday evening after-the-banquet presentation by Bob Waaland.
There will be the usual complement of talks and posters, and since the low
tides are particularly good, there will be early morning field trips (6 am)
on both Saturday and Sunday for those that are interested. By May, the
weather can be sunny along the coast, so NWAS '99 may be an excellent
opportunity for both photons and phycology!
Our Final Web page has been posted at:
http://hmsc.orst.edu/projects/nwas/index.html
It includes information on meeting fees, accommodations, food, and a zoom
in-and-out map of how to get there. The deadline for registration and
abstracts is April 14, 1999. Be sure to book your accommodations early to
insure space.
Hope to see you there!
