Dear Colleagues:
We have assembled a beta version of the chloroplast genome web site that
will allow you to quickly access sequences, gene sets, publications and gene
expression data. We encourage you to visit this site and send comments to us
so that it will be of the greatest use to the Chlamydomonas community and
other researchers. An email address for feedback can be found on the main
page. Credit is due to Mina Zakhary, a Cornell undergraduate; Jude Maul, a
research technician and Jason Lilly, a postdoc, all in the Stern laboratory
and also to Lib Harris for helping us finalize the cp genome sequence. The
fully annotated sequence is being finalized for Genbank (accession number
AF396929), and should be available within about two weeks. Please contact
Lib Harris for updates. Of course, the genome sequence is also available
through the new site described here.
The site URL is <http://bti.cornell.edu/bti2/chlamyweb/index.html>. Note
that the links to gene expression data and supplemental manuscript
information are not active; this is because the data are currently under
review for publication. The ³sequence extractor² is inactive at the moment
awaiting a software fix.
Happy surfing
David Stern
