Gompertz function/growth curves

Has anyone implemented on IBM-PCs the algorithm to solve the Gompertz
growth curve function described in CABIOS vol 8(3)pp239-241 (1992) by
H Pasternak and B A Shalev?

I find that the algorithm does not give solutions that converge: each
three-point determination gives a decent fit to the experimental curve,
but averaging the results causes divergence.
