About a year ago a post from Bill Sofer listed several programs in
computational biology; from it I compiled the list below. In each item
you'll find an institution and, when available, a short description and
the name of a faculty member or researcher involved with the program
(in parenthesis). I cannot guarantee that all the information below is
correct or up to date.

\begin{itemize}
\item Boston University, Department of Biomedical Engineering (Temple Smith).
\item Carnegie Mellon University, the Keck Center for
Advanced Training in Computational Biology, a
collaborative program between Carnegie Mellon University
and the University of Pittsburgh's departments of
 Computer Science and Biology.
\item George Mason University,
new program in Computational Science and Informatics.
\item Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Eric Lander, Jim Orlin,
Bonnie Berger).
\item Stanford University, Medical Information Sciences (David Botstein).
\item University of Arizona, Department of Computer Science (Gene Myers).
\item University of California, Berkeley, Computer Science Division
\item University of California, Davis, Department of Computer Science
(Dan Gusfield).
\item University of California, San Diego, recently advertised program
in Genome Analysis and Informatics.
\item University of California, San Francisco,
a very strong program in computational chemistry.
\item University of Georgia.
The graduate program in Genetics at the University of
Georgia has a program in computational molecular
 biology.
\item University of Illinois. The Beckman Center
has an interdisciplinary program
 between biology and computer science.
\item University of Missouri, a computer science department masters program
that emphasizes molecular biology computer applications.
That department is planning to offer a Ph.D. in the
 future (Gordon Springer).
\item Pennsylvania State University, Computer Science Department (Webb
Miller, Pavel Pevzner).
\item University of Pennsylvania, Department of Computer Science
(Tandy Warnow).
\item University of Southern California, Department of Mathematics
(Mike Waterman).
\item University of Washington, Seattle, Biotechnology Department
(L. Hood) & Computer Science (R. Karp, W. Ruzzo, M. Tompa).
\item University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Computer Science
(Deborah Joseph).
\item Washington State University, Pullman.
A program in computational science including biology
that has been going for at least three years (Keith Dunker).
\item Washington University, St. Louis. They have a new Institute for
Biological Computing (David States).
\end{itemize}
