Data usable for phylogenetic trees ?

Hello everybody

A friend of mine is developing a new classification algorithm and wants to test
it on some biological data. For that he needs for instance taxonomic data for
bacteria, viruses or other organisms. He is also happy about some measured p
roperties of plasmids, DNA or RNA. 
Any idea where I can find things like that ???
