Announcing HinCyc, an Encyclopedia of the H. influenzae Genome
and Metabolic Pathways
HinCyc is a reconstruction of the metabolism of Haemophilus influenzae
Rd, the first bacterium whose genome was completely sequenced. The
HinCyc knowledge base and associated WWW-based graphical user
interface describe the following aspects of H. influenzae:
o All H. influenzae genes
o The H. influenzae genomic map
o The predicted metabolic pathways of H. influenzae -- more
specifically, those E. coli metabolic pathways that are predicted
to occur in H. influenzae
o The predicted enzymes of H. influenzae
o The bioreactions catalyzed by those enzymes
o The chemical compounds involved in those bioreactions
