Statistics in Clinics and Epidemiology
Prague, 9th - 20th June, 1997
Course objective
There will be given a course at the EuroMISE Center of Charles
University and Academy of Sciences of Czech Republic. The objectives
of the course are to provide theoretical and practical knowledge in
statistics for clinical and epidemiological research and practice.
The course will be prepared in wide European cooperation, especially
with EU universities and institutes in Germany (Heidelberg, Marburg,
Neuherberg), France (Bordeaux) and Ireland (Dublin).
Who should attend?
Graduate in medicine, epidemiology, statistics, informatics or other
related disciplines, who are willing to improve their professional
knowledge and skills in the interdisciplinary fields covered by this
course.
Set up of the course
During all parts of the course in the morning sections, lectures and
demonstrations will be presented. In the afternoons, practical
exercises are given so that hands-on experiences can be obtained.
To this aim a network of workstations is available at the EuroMISE
Center.
During the course hand-outs and books will be made available to all
participants. All materials will be in English.
Further information
The course is given in English, the applicants must be able to
understand, speak and write in English. Participants who have followed
all course and fulfilled all requirements will be given a certificate.
Preliminary applications must be sent before March 15, 1997. Detailed
information about the course will be sent after receiving your
application.
Costs
Each participants should cover by himself:
* accommodation, staying expenses and travel costs (in case of interest the
accommodation could be arranged through the EuroMISE Center)
* the registration fee of 350 ECU (course organization, course materials, 10
lunches and refreshment during coffee breaks, one day trip outside of
Prague are included)
