 American Medical Informatics Association
1998 Annual Symposium
Orlando, Florida
November 8 - November 11, 1998

The Annual Symposium of the American Medical Informatics Association
(November 8-11, is having a session this year dedicated to
"Bioinformatics
and molecular applications" in order to encourage communication and
collaboration between bioinformatics and clinical informatics
professionals.

The challenge of organizing genomic data for clinical uses is now on the

horizon, and this session will provide a forum for bioinformatics
professionals to understand the clinical contexts in which this
information
will be stored, indexed, retrieved and used. It also provides an
opportunity for clinical informatics professionals to assess the likely
impact of genomic data (both for humans and human pathogens) on medical
information systems. Submissions are sought in all areas of
informatics
which have implications for the delivery of health care or the
performance
of basic health research.

THE DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS IS 3/27/98.

The web page for the conference, with complete details for submissions
