If you can read German, a good resource would be "Algorithmische
Grundlagen der Bioinformatik" by Boeckenbauer and Bongartz (Wiesbaden
(Teubner) 2003, ISBN3-519-00398-8), which is an introduction written for
computer scientists: brief intro to biological relevance, then treatment
of mathemathical background and relevant algorithms. Unfortunately the
treatment of maths is so terse that most biologist will find it
difficult going.
