Ph.D. Position in Computational Biophysical Chemistry
A four year Ph.D. fellowship is available in the faculty of Chemistry at
the University of the Basque Country, San Sebastian Spain. The Ph.D.
project will make use of computational methods to investigate several
issues in epigenetics that involve DNA-protein recognition. In
particular, the driving force that governs the selectivity of
hemi-methylated DNA by the regulatory protein UHRF1, as well as, the
base flipping mechanism associated with this interaction. These studies
will utilize molecular dynamics simulations and several techniques in
free energy calculations. The candidate should have a Master (or an
equivalent) degree in chemistry, physics, biology, or a related area,
preferably from an EU country. The starting date of the position is
flexible.
