Special Session on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC) 2011
New Orleans, USA, 5th-8th June 2011
http://www.elec.york.ac.uk/events/cec2011bio/
===========================================================
Extended submission deadline: 28th January 2011
This special session has been a part of CEC since 1999 and is
soliciting high quality original research and application papers
that have not been published elsewhere and are not under
consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers will be
rigorously reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the
CEC proceedings.
The special session will highlight applications of evolutionary
computation to a broad range of topics in bioinformatics and
computational biology. Particular interest will be directed
towards novel applications of evolutionary computation to
problems in these areas. The scope of this session also includes
hybrids with other nature or biology inspired methods such as
simulated annealing, neural or fuzzy computation, swarm
intelligence, ant-colony optimization, and artificial immune
systems.
Topics include, but are not limited to: drug docking, protein
folding, regulatory networks, sequence alignment, phylogenetics,
RNA structure, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, medicine, and
ecological modeling.
