Call for Papers -Technology for Deep-Sea Geological Investigations:
Developments, Applications and Results
Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, UK
11-12 November, 1998
Deadline: 1 April, 1998
Papers are invited for this meeting which is intended to bring together
geoscientists and engineers to discuss recent improvements in technology for
the understanding of thegeology of the oceans, their margins and mid-ocean
ridges. Papers will deal with new engineering developments, recent case
studies of their deployment, and present fresh geological insights that have
relied on the use of technology.
The meeting is to be held as a memorial to Jack Pheasant, an engineer who
contributed greatly to marine geoscience.
This meeting is being organized jointly be the Marine Studies Group of the
Geological Society and the Ocean Resources Committee of the Society for
Underwater Technology, and is also an International Year of the Ocean event.
Titles with brief abstracts should be sent to either of the convenors before
1 April, 1998.
