shark liver

My brother is looking at examing the polar lipid content of shark livers
using 1D or 2D TLC.  Unfortunately the resolution/separation of the
lipid components using the solvent systems he tried, is not good.  Does
anyone have any idea what a good solvent system is for resolving shark
liver lipids?  Thanks , Che
