POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN INSECT MOLECULAR GENETICS

A postdoctoral position is available to participate in the genetic,
molecular genetic and biochemical investigations of insect transposable
elements and to develop transgenic technology for insects of medical and
economic importance. A family of short-inverted repeat type transposable
elements is being vigorously investigated in drosophilid and non-drosophilid
insects (see PNAS 90:9693). Experience in molecular genetics is essential.
Individuals with training and experience in Drosophila molecular genetics
who are interested in working in the emerging field of non-drosophilid
molecular genetics are encouraged to apply.
