FlyBase Update - New files of chromosome aberration data.

FlyBase is happy to announce a completely new file of information
on chromosome aberrations. This file is a merge of the aberration data
in Lindsley and Zimm (1992) and that of Ashburner's old tables. The
file includes data on nearly 10,000 different chromosome aberrations.

The data are available in two forms, in report and text formats, as
flybase/aberrations/aberrations.rpt and flybase/aberrations/aberrations.txt.

Also released is a 'breakpoint' map of aberrations, in the form of a
table of cytological breakpoints and aberrations. This is
flybase/aberrations/breakmap.rpt.

Please read the documentation to learn about the structure of these
files and the conventions FlyBase is using. This is in
flybase/aberrations/aberrations.doc and is included in a revised
version of the FlyBase Reference Manual (flybase/docs/Reference-manual,
in text or Postscript formats).
