Egg laying pattern?

Depends on what you mean by one at a time -- the female fruit fly has
an oviduct that passes only one egg at a time. But she matures clusters
of several eggs, and stores sperm from from matings, so that when fertile
and on suitable egg-laying media, will lay lots of eggs over a few minutes
(sorry for the vague numbers, I used to count fly eggs and study fly
reproductive biology but its been several years...)
