InsituPCR to polytenes

Has anybody got in situ PCR to polytene chromosomes to work. We are curr-
ently using Vectors Biotin ISH system, and have tried a few pilot experimen
ts using Biotin spiked PCR mixes, and the standard detection protocol. So
far sucess eludes us ( but then again we don't have a slide heating block
or fluorescent detection!) Thanks in advance for any help - (even if its
just to tell us we/re wasting our time!!)Thanks Richard M. Badge.
