I've made cheap, workable CO2 pads by cutting polyethylene gel dryer
sheeting, taping it over the "holy" side of used pipette tip boxes, and
then poking a hole in the side of the tip box for a CO2 inlet tube. I
bought the porous polyethylene sheeting from Hoeffer (#SE1145). That
company has since been purchased by Pharmacia and their part number seems
to be #80-6118-38.
