Relating age of parents to longevity of offspring?

I am interested in finding out if any research has been done regarding the age 
of the parentals and how it relates to the longevity of the offspring?  Do older 
parentals have offspring that have a shorter life span?  I am a biology student, 
and I am interested in starting a research project in this field.  I would
