DROSOPHILA MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
The Center for Conservation Research & Training at the University of Hawaii
Manoa is seeking to hire an ASSISTANT RESEARCHER, Position # 086179T.
This is a full-time, non-tenured position funded by ERATO of Japan;
start date, approx. 8/1/96. Duties: To apply molecular biology/genetics
to the understanding of sexual behavior & the evolution of morphological
diversity in Hawaiian Drosophila. The successful candidate will be
expected to design, perform and evaluate various experiments in
collaboration with a team of researchers investigating behavioral genes
to elucidate the molecular basis of sexual selection. Minimum
Qualifications: Candidate must have a PhD in the field of molecular
biology w/background in Drosophila biology/evolution and knowledge of
RT-PCR techniques. Desirable Qualifications: Background in techniques
such as 2-hybrid systems and differential display. Minimum Annual
