Green Fluorescent Protein

Has anyone used GFP as a reporter for gene expression in live larvae?  
I would be interested in hearing about the pros and cons of using GFP 
in live Drosophila.  Are there different GFP reporter constructs 
available, and if so, which would be the best to use in live flies?  
Do you need specialized equipment for viewing GFP in whole animals?
