-A posdoctoral research position is available immediately in the
Department of Gene Expression Science, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals
on the study of innate immune function. This position will interface
with human genomic efforts by defining conserved elements of innate
immunity in hematopoietic-derived Drosophila melanogaster cell lines.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in molecular or cellular biology,
experience in Drosophila molecular genetics, an interest in molecular
immunology, and willingness to participate in multidisciplinary teams. A
strong immunological background is preferred but not required.
Experience in cDNA cloning, insect cell culture, heterologous gene
expression, and targeted gene disruption (e.g. antisense technology)
would also be advantageous. This position is for two years and includes
