Applications are invited for a 4+2 year position as a JUNIOR RESEARCH
FELLOW in Developmental Biology (Drosophila), reference number 10294/97,

and

Applications are invited for a Study Grant for PhD-STUDENTS in
Developmental Biology preferably with experience in Drosophila,
reference number 10524/97, at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology,
Section for Developmental Biology, Lund University, Sweden.

The Section focuses on the role of extracellular matrix and the
signaling cascade via integrins into the cell. To this end, several key
players have already been isolated from Drosophila and are currently
investigated both on the molecular and genetic level, including: two new
laminins, nidogen, perlecan, K-glypican, paxillin, integrin-linked
kinase and zyxin. (See BioEssays 18 (1996),123-132) or (Science 268
(1995), 233-239). Further interests are in molecules involved in axon
guidance. Two novel semaphorins and the NG-CAM othologue (see Science
274 (1996), 1123-1133) have been isolated and are presently
characterised.

Informal inquiries may be made to Stefan Baumgartner, email
