We are conducting a chair search and encourage PIs who perform research on
Drosophila to apply. We currently have four fly labs in our department.
Title and Department: Professor and Chair, Department of
Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology (BCMB)
Target start date: August 18, 1998
Start-up package: An extremely competitive salary and start-up funds
package is offered.
Duties: The successful candidate is expected to have and maintain an
active research program, participate in the undergraduate and
graduate teaching responsibilities of the department, represent the
department administratively within the Division of Biological
Sciences and at the College and University levels, and actively seek
external funds for the enhancement of the research and teaching
missions of the department.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the
biological sciences or related field; internationally recognized
excellence in research; demonstrated history of obtaining external
research support; evidence of administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Externally funded research program.
Ability to lead a large department.
