Most stocks of Drosophila can be imported into the continental U.S. without
a permit. U.S. Customs may, however, delay stocks for extended periods
while they try to determine whether a permit is needed. This problem seems
to be more common when a courier service is used for shipment. By including
relevant regulatory information along with your shipment the process may be
speeded along. We have prepared a document that you may find useful. See
http://flybase.bio.indiana.edu/stocks/stock-centers/bloomington/lk/import-
info.html for an html version of this information. A text version of this
document is available at http://flybase.bio.indiana.edu/stocks/stock-centers/
bloomington/lk/import-info.txt .
