If you've got internet access you should try somewhere like  flybase
linked from  http://edgp.ebi.ac.uk/  and search for your gene of
interest.

Curly is on chromosome II, (ie not sex linked), and is a dominant
homozygous lethal.  I'd check the details in flybase.
