DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGIST

The University of Calgary Molecular and Developmental
Biology Research
Group and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology invite
applications for a full-time academic position in the field
of
developmental biology.  Our current strengths include
molecular, genetic
and neurobiological approaches to the study of the
development of model
organisms, including C. elegans, Drosophila and mice.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D., at least two
years of
postdoctoral experience and a proven record of excellence in
research.
The selected candidate is expected to compete successfully
for salary
support and establishment funding from the Alberta Heritage
Foundation
for Medical Research and/or the Medical Research Council of
Canada; we
anticipate that generous start up funds will be available to
a qualified
candidate.  While duties include some teaching and graduate
student
supervision, 75% of time will be protected for research.
Calgary is a
beautiful and vibrant city (pop. 800,000), located within an
hour of the
Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park.

given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of
Canada.  The
