POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE in Drosophila Phototransduction
We have two postdoctoral positions (one would also be suitable for a
postgraduate) funded for 3 years and available from October 2000. The
lab studies phosphoinositide signalling in Drosophila photoreceptors, a
genetic model for PLC signalling, TRP channel regulation and hereditary
retinal degeneration. This will be a multidisciplinary project
combining patch clamp, Ca2+ measurements, molecular genetics and
biochemistry to analyse mechanisms of phototransduction and
degeneration. Molecular, biochemical or electrophysiological experience
in 2nd messenger/Ca2+ signalling, ion channels or Drosophila
neurobiology would be desirable, but training can be given.
