You can try filleting the embryos.  Depending on what you want to do,
this will work well.  On a glass slide in a small amount of glycerol,
cut the head off with a fine tungsten needle (0.05 inch diameter wire,
polished by electrolysis in 2M NaOH using a low voltage available on a
train set power supply, and held in a wire holder) mounted in glycerol.
 Rip along the dorsal midline (or ventral) with the sharp wire.  Push
the sides of the embryo out flat on the glass slide by rolling the gut
over the body wall.  Remove the gut, and put under a sealed coverslip. 
Use minimal amounts of glycerol.
