meiotic recombination

Dear All,

I was trying to explore whether the reason for the absence of meiotic
recombination in Drosophila males was actually known in some
molecular detail. I found surprisingly little information on that topic
in the literature, despite the fact that meiotic recombination
seems to be controlled by the Sxl-Tra sex determination pathway in the
female.
Also, is male meiotic recombination also absent in Drosophila species
other than melanogaster ?
If anyone has some further information, please reply !
