Technician Position -- Evolutionary Genetics of Drosophila

A full-time technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jim
Fry, to start in early January. We study the evolutionary quantitative
genetics of Drosophila melanogaster, focussing on the ecological genetics
of resource use and the rates and effects of mildly deleterious
mutations. The technician's responsibilities will include maintaining
stocks, conducting crosses, carrying out fitness measurements, and
supervising other laboratory personnel. Some molecular and/or biochemical
work may also be involved. Desired qualifications include a B.S. or B.A.
in Biology or related subject, an interest in evolution and genetics, and
previous laboratory experience. Experience with Drosophila would be
helpful but not essential. Salary will be commensurate with
experience. Full benefits included.
