Postdoctoral Position Available in Paris

A postdoctoral position is available to participate in ongoing studies of
the brain structures implicated in the genesis of locomotor activity, in
Drosophila. The project concern the characterization of the neurons,
located in the pars intercerebralis, which are responsible for the sexual
dimorphism in locomotor activity. The project will combine neuroanatomy,
genetic and molecular analysis as well as behavioral analysis. Reference:
S. Gatti, J.F. Ferveur and Martin, J.R. (2000). Genetic Identification of
Neurones Controlling a Sexually Dimorphic Behavior. Current Biology, Vol
10, No 11, 667-670. The Postdoctoral Position (CNRS - Chercheur Associé)
(restricted to a Non-French citizen) is available for one year (renewable
for a second year) and should start about at the 1er January 2001. The
salary will be in the range of 11000 francs (~1680 €) per month (social
insurance included).
