                ********** POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS **********

Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in my laboratory 
at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Heraklion, 
Crete, Greece, to work on the molecular and cellular biology of 
Plasmodium-Anopheles interactions in the midgut.

The first position will be funded by the RTN programme of the EU 
(thus,it is restricted to candidates from EU-member states excluding 
Greece) in the frame of a Network consisting of Bruno Arca (Rome), 
Andrea Crisanti (Imperial C.), Jules Hoffmann (Strasbourg), Fotis 
Kafatos (EMBL), Bob Sinden (Imperial C.) and Andy Waters (Leiden). 
The successful applicant will work on the identification of the 
Anopheles' parasite receptor(s) and is expected to spend part of 
his/her time at one of the other laboratories mentioned.

The second position deals with gene discovery (using microarray 
technology) and is aimed at identifying the Plasmodium genes whose 
products interact with insect proteins during the invasion of the 
midgut.

Candidates should have experience in molecular/cellular biology or 
molecular parasitology. They should send their application (incl. a
