I have two open positions in my lab.

A postdoctoral position is available to study transcriptional control of
pattern formation during Drosophila embryogenesis. Beginning date can be as
early as February 1, 2001 and may be extended for three years. Recent
studies in my lab indicate that regionally expressed, partially redundant,
zinc finger proteins may act as cofactors with HOM-C proteins to selectively
activate specific HOM-C target genes (see Mahaffey et al. Genetics, 2001
157: 225-236). The person filling this position will participate in further
studies of this system including studies of protein-protein and protein-DNA
interactions. The position is suitable for someone who has recently
received a PhD, with experience in genetics and molecular genetics and
having an interest in the transcriptional control of Drosophila development.
Candidates should send a CV and statement of research interests, and arrange
for three letters of recommendation to be sent separately to the address
below.

A Technician III, Lab Manager Position is also available. This is a
permanent position. The person will be responsible for general laboratory
management and will set up and conduct molecular and genetic experiments
with Drosophila and other model organisms. Duties include, but are not
limited to, conducting molecular and genetic experiments, overseeing
maintenance of Drosophila stocks, performing data entry, supervising and
training other lab personnel, maintaining laboratory supplies and
administering laboratory safety plans and procedures. Requires a college
degree in biology or related field and would prefer lab experience in
molecular biology and experience with Drosophila. For more details, see
