S2 transfections

Can anyone help me with my S2 problems? I've been transfecting using 
calcium phosphate, and I've had very mixed results in terms of 
efficiency of transfection, cell death etc. Has anyone used this 
method and got it to work consistently well? Alternatively, can 
anyone recommend an alternative method that works well?
