Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Salary is commensurate with experience
 
Post-Doctoral position available immediately in the laboratory of Bill Orr
to conduct studies on the molecular genetics of aging using Drosophila as a
model. Our focus is on oxidative stress and its possible roles in the aging
process.  Available projects include studies of components of the
antioxidative network (especially glutathione), DNA repair in mitochondria
and proteins that are particularly susceptible to oxidative damage.
Candidates must have some research experience in the area of molecular
biology and be well-versed in techniques involving recombinant DNA.
Research experience in Drosophila genetics and/or enzymology is desirable.

Research Associate III
Salary range:  $30,000 to $45,000
 
Full-time research associate to conduct studies in the molecular biology
of aging in the laboratory of Bill Orr.   Primary responsibilities include
reading literature relating to new research procedures, experimenting with
and modifying these procedures for a particular project or experiment,
recording data, reporting results and training others in how to carry out
these procedures.  Also, some supervision of work-study students.  A
Bachelor's degree in Biology or Chemistry and a minimum of three years prior
research experience in the area of molecular biology with expertise in
recombinant DNA techniques is required. Research experience in enzymology
and/or Drosophila genetics is desirable.
