The genetics group of the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology is
seeking an experimentalist using modern molecular technologies to study
any of the following areas:  population genomics, genome dynamics,
evolutionary genetics, and/or evolution of developmental controls.  We
intend to fill a TENURE-TRACK position at the ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE
PROFESSOR level beginning August 2003, as part of an ongoing expansion.
Candidates who may contribute to the activities and utilize the
facilities of a new applied genomics program will be given special
consideration.  Our faculty is dedicated to excellence in both teaching
and research with interests in molecular evolution, chromosome structure
and function, and applied genetic technologies.  The successful
candidate should have appropriate post-doctoral experience to develop a
productive independent research program and to contribute to the
teaching missions of the department.  The appointee will join the
undergraduate and graduate programs of the department that lead to a
Ph.D.  Applicants should submit a curriculum vita, a brief statement of
research and teaching interest, and arrange to have three letters of
recommendation sent.  Applications will be reviewed starting February 3,
and will be accepted until the position is filled.  We encourage
