Research Associates/ Laboratory Manager 

(Discovery: Job Code: 03-001)

 

Job Description and Primary Responsibilities:

*         The Laboratory Manager will assure effective laboratory
operations for our rapidly growing company.

*         Oversee day-to-day laboratory activities, including the smooth
operation of essential scientific equipment and laboratory automation.

*         Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, ensure
effective record-keeping policies and processes, and track lab equipment
maintenance schedules.

*         Coordinate laboratory safety programs, working with in-house
staff to ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA regulations.

*         Supervise lab assistants and technicians to maintain the
smooth organization and functionality of the lab.

Qualifications:

*         B.A., B.S., M.S., or equivalent in genetics, biology,
molecular biology, or cell biology with 3+ years of relevant laboratory
experience.

*         Previous experience in an industrial biotechnology
organization and supervisory experience is highly desirable.

*         Previous Drosophila experience and compound library management
a plus.

*         Excellent oral and written communication and organization
skills.

*         Self motivated, energetic and able to work in a diverse team
environment.

Research Assistants/Associates 

(Discovery: Job Code: 03-002)

 

Job Description and Primary Responsibilities:

*         We are seeking highly motivated, hardworking individuals to
work collaboratively with other associates and scientist to identify
novel therapeutics for various central nervous system diseases.

*         Perform HTS assays with integrated robotics systems.

*         Drosophila curation and genetics.

*         Process and analyze HTS data and update primary database.

*         Perform regular maintenance of instruments.

*         Maintain consumable inventory and order supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

*         B.A., B.S., M.S., or equivalent in genetics, biology,
molecular biology, or cell biology with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory
experience.

*         A working knowledge of Drosophila genetics is required.

*         Experience with basic molecular biology techniques,
microinjection, polytene chromosome analysis, or immunohistochemistry
desirable.

*         Experience with automated liquid handling and other robotics
preferred.

*         Proficient computer and data processing skills and the ability
to maintain accurate records and tracking of large sets of data
required.

*         Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability
to participate in a team-oriented environment.
