Sorry to ask a simplistic question, but I am just beginning to work with Drosophila.  My question is this:  What is the name of the basic Drosophila melanogaster inbred line?  My reference point is using a mouse model in which you utilize a certain strain of mice in your research project; I hope this clarifies my question.
 
Any information you might be able to be give will be most helpful.
