Meeting announcement: The 2nd Great Barrier Reef Drosophila Conference
8 - 12 September 2005, Cairns, Australia

Following the outstanding success of the inaugural meeting in 2003,
the organizers are please to extend a warm invitation to the 2nd Great
Barrier Reef Drosophila Conference to be held in Cairns, Australia.
The conference will cover a wide range of topics of interest to
Drosophila researchers, from molecular and developmental genetics to
cell biology, genomics and evolution. Confirmed attendees so far are:
Konrad Basler, Sarah Bray, Nick Brown, Andrew Clark, Minx Fuller,
Thomas Lecuit, Erika Matunis and Matt Scott. In addition, talks will
be selected from submitted abstracts and poster sessions will be held.
The conference will be held in the Cairns Colonial Club Resort, Cairns
and will begin on the afternoon of Thursday September 8th and concludes
on the evening of Sunday September 11th, with departure on the morning
of Monday September 12th. The Saturday has been set aside for a day
trip to the reef or, if you prefer, a visit to the tropical rainforests
For those attending the 15th International Congress of Developmental
Biologists in Sydney (website: http://www.isdb2005.com/), the
Drosophila meeting time for Congress attendees to fly to Cairns on the
Thursday morning following the conclusion of the Congress.
DEADLINE for registrations is 31 May 2005.
Registration costs: (includes welcome cocktail party, lunches Friday
and Sunday, tea/coffee and conference dinner).
