[Drosophila] Drosophila Species Identification Workshop

Dear Fly Community,
The Tucson Drosophila Stock Center will be hosting Drosophila Species 
Workshop VII in Tucson, AZ. This species identification workshop will be 
held October 25-28, 2007. This workshop is suited for researchers 
interested in learning to identify different Drosophila species, prepare 
culture medium for species with different dietary requirements, and 
become familiar with culture techniques necessary to successfully 
utilize non-melanogaster Drosophila species in their research. The 
melanogaster, obscura, repleta, and virilis group species will be given

The deadline for applications is September 2, 2007. Participants will be 
chosen in two cohorts, one in August and one in September. The URL for
