The Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center has assembled a new Deficiency
Kit. It provides maximal genome coverage using the fewest molecularly
defined chromosomal deficiencies. The new Df Kit uses deficiencies with
breakpoints mapped to the genome sequence while the breakpoints of most
deficiencies in the old Kit had had been mapped only by polytene
cytology. The new Df Kit should make mapping mutations and screening
for genetic modifiers much more straightforward. For more information,
see http://flystocks.bio.indiana.edu/Browse/df-dp/dfkit-info.htm.
